Antique hand colored map of the United States as it was in 1820, by Melish and published in Lavoisne’s 1820 atlas. The West is comprised of territories including the massive Missouri Territory. Texas is not yet part of the US and has very interesting borders. Much of the west is owned by Mexico. A wonderful early map that clearly shows the slow formation of the country. Good condition with some image transfer, scatter spots, and an upper seam separation. Approx. 17 x 21.25 inches to the nealine. **SOLD**
