Antique hand colored celestial map by Homann, after Doppelmayr, 1730. This gorgeous map features the constellations of the southern hemisphere with shining gold paint on the stars. The left and right sides include information about the constellations in Latin. Handsomely framed in a delicately detailed wood frame with French lines. The framing appears to be archival but it has not been opened for inspection. Map measures approx. 18.75 x 22.25 inches. Overall size including the frame is approx. 32 x 35 inches.
